Away From It All

What a wonderful stay I had here. The cottage is beautiful and incredibly cosy especially on those cold windy days/nights..plenty of room with a real feeling of history within.. A pub just yards along the quiet road which has a great menu and various traditional ales on tap..The beautiful rugged coast is just minutes away on foot, I really felt like I was in the heart of traditional Cornwall....I recommend this cottage to all...You will not be disappointed..
Paul TThe real Cornwall......
Stayed here with some friends in the autumn and what a brilliant base to explore a stunning part of the world! A beautifully rennovated old miners cottage; clean, tidy and with all home comforts, including wifi (useful for planning bike routes!). Loved the wood burner and cooked up some great meals on the range. Pub over the road is really nice too. Will definately be returning!!!
Owen MLovely house in a brilliant location!
A really welcoming place to stay on our round cornwall epic bike ride! the cottage was warm and cosy with everything we needed to hand. A wonderful location, we loved exploring the surrounding area, and saw some spectacular sunsets!
What a delightful true Cornish cottage, every comfort from home but taken back in time with this little Gem. Situated in a lovely peaceful village with the local Inn just a few steps away, and the beautiful spectacular cliffs opposite the cottage. We were a party of seven including young children, and found the cottage had ample room for us all, a very comfortable lounge with a log burner -which we didn't need to use as the cottage was lovely and warm. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking a meal for us all, with a lovely Rayburn for cooking, and ample crockery and cutlery. The bedrooms were so comfortable, and we all had good night sleeps in the cosy beds. We found the whole cottage lovely and clean and wanted for nothing to make our stay better, We were pleased to find a variety of games for the children to play with which kept them amused in the evenings. Outside is a lovely enclosed garden, very safe for children and dogs to play in. We will certainly be making more visits to this lovely cottage, I can't praise it enough, and I highly recommend it.
Val WalesA true Cornish Gem
Our stay in the cottage was very enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the gifts that were left for our arrival. The cottage was plenty big enough for the 2 of us. It was warm and cosy in the evenings. The pub next door is lovely - but was busy and we had to wait for sometime to get served. The coastal footpath is located a short walk away and, with the weather we had, was a delight. We did all the local sights including Tresco, St Michaels Mount, St Ives, Mousehole, Lands End (the Coast path) and Sennen. We hope to be back.

just had a post easter break in this gorgeous miners cottage. its in a great location for walking the coastpath. with stunning senery and the iconic crown mines a few minutes away. cottage itself well equipped ,clean and very welcoming, lovely cream tea on arrival.cosy evenings by the woodburning stove (very romantic) . can highly recommend
Celiavery romantic
A comfortable, well equipped and immaculately clean cottage located in a peaceful hamlet but less than a mile from St Just. On arrival we found a cream tea and fresh flowers had been left for us - the little touches set the atmosphere and it continued from there. Little Ferriby is a short walk from the coastal path and the interesting remains of Botallack's mining past - 'The Crowns' are very atmospheric. Ideal for walkers who want to explore the area and close to the magical landscape around West Penwith.

A very enjoyable week in an obviously well loved cottage-close enough to enjoy this unique area of Cornwall yet far enough away to be quiet and be refreshed by our surroundings. The coast is amazing! All the extra touches including cream tea were very welcome. A very special cottage in a very special place.

A delightful cottage fully equipped with all we could need for a holiday away. Really well cared for and exceptionally clean. Great touches with a welcome pack of fresh flowers, scones, jam, cream and milk! Ideally situated, with the costal path being steps away as is the local pub. Also only four miles away from Sennen Cove so ideally situated for young families.

A lovely cottage in a location that meant seeing what South Cornwall had to offer was very easy. The welcome cream tea was lovely and just what we needed after our journey. The cottage was clean and had everything you could need. We had an issue with the water tap in the kitchen sink (very slow running) but it did not impact our enjoyment. The garden is enclosed but the garden waste that had accumulated from fallen leaves by the garden wall meant that we had to keep an eye to ensure the dog did not escape over the wall - luckily the drop the other side seemed to put her off! I would not hesitate to stay here again and have recommended it to various friends and family.
Brisbabe BristolBrilliant location
The cottage is spacious and yet maintains its captivating character, every effort has been made to make it the perfect holiday home. The outside of Little ferriby has a beautiful garden with outdoor dining giving a great first impression. Inside there is ample leaving space, firstly the kitchen with all mod coms including a large dining table and a superb cooker/oven. The living room is a gem, beautiful open fireplace and wonderful furnishings. The bedrooms are charming, immaculatly clean and the beds very comfortable. In summary, a wonderful week's break in this magical part of Cornwall. The location is second to none for long or short walks, historical sightseeing with a reputable pub next door. Would suit anyone looking for peace in the country, who loves the great outdoors and has a passion for cottages. A perfect holiday home.

We recently spent a long weekend at Little Ferriby - it proved to be the perfect getaway spot. The cottage was cosy and has everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable & well presented. The fresh flowers & cream tea supplies were a lovely extra touch! In terms of location, it couldn't have been better. A very short walk to a friendly local pub, and to the cliffs & mines on the coast. Also, a short drive from other nice places (St Ives/Lands End/Mousehole) worth a visit. We'd definitely come again, and happily recommend it to friends & family.
Claire BristolPerfect Escape
We spent a wonderful week in Little Ferriby at the end of May. We are a family of six plus a Great Dane and we all fitted very comfortably into this cosy little cottage. Much thought has been put into equipping the cottage for guests with everything you could possibly need. We would also agree with other reviewers that it was spotlessly clean which is very important to us. And we really appreciated the cream tea and fresh flowers on our arrival - a lovely touch! The front garden is completely enclosed and our dog loved sitting by the wall watching the world go by! The stunning SW coastal path is a ten minute walk away and there are some fascinating mine ruins to explore including the arsenic labyrinth which our kids played hide and seek in for hours. Botallack itself is ideally situated for exploring the wild and beautiful Land's End peninsula and is convenient for Land's End, Sennen Cove, the Minack theatre, Geevor Tin Mine and St. Michael's Mount. We were very taken with both the cottage and the area and would not hesitate to recommend either to our family and friends and we very much hope to return again one day.
AnnoymousA little gem!
Best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in and very clean too. Loads to do in the area and mins from the coast path. We had a glorious week weather wise and saw Poldark being filmed on the mines just around the corner. Great holiday, for us and the dogs. Credit to the owner. We will be booking again!
Angela MPerfect holiday hideaway!
This is a lovely authentic tin miners cottage. The front garden was ideal for the children to play in safely although take care as the front gate opens straight onto the road which is quiet but is on a bus route. The pub next door does great food but book a table to be sure of eating there. A short walk takes you to the fantastic coastal path with its old tin mines and amazing views of the coastline. The cottage is 15 minutes from Penzance and about 25 minutes from St Ives so is in a great location. We had a great holiday.
John AA charming cottage next to a lovely pub and 2 minutes walk from the stunning coastal paths.
A cosy and quaint Cornish cottage next to the very pleasant pub and 5 minutes from stunning cliff walks. We had an amazing ramble along the coast to the beautiful beach in Portheras Cove, not to mention lovely days in St Ives, St Michaels Mount and various other local attractions. A lovely cottage to come home to, space for all 6 of us, including two rambunctious small boys, and delicious apples on the tree in the garden. Thank you for letting us borrow your lovely Cornish hideaway!
Sarah MWhat a lovely cottage.
A wonderful family holiday in a cosy cottage, scones, jam and cream were waiting on arrival on a blustery day which changed into a warm sunny week. Brew, our boxer dog, loved to sit at the door watching the world go by and our tortoise loved to wander around the garden eating the dandelions and plantain and watching everything from the garden gate! The Queens Arm was just along the road and the walks around this stunning area were right on the doorstep. Botallack Mine was a 5 minute walk away, or if you're feeling lazy there is a large National Trust car park with a small café and tables to sit outside and enjoy the amazing view, the coffee was delicious. Thank you Maureen, Nick and I, and Brew of course, will definitely be back.
Sue RBeautiful location and idyllic cottage
This is the most comprehensively equipped cottage we have ever hired. Not so much a holiday let as home from home, only the most pernickety could find a problem. Although it has all mod cons it retains its cottage character and atmosphere. Ours was a festive season holiday and we found on arrival, christmas decs including an illuminated tree, mince pies and a bottle of bubbly. The cottage is dog friendly and the garden is enclosed. Five minute walk to the headland, great for dogs and owners alike.
Terry JonesA real gem
