Little Ferriby was empty and up for sale in 2012. We fell in love with it and purchased in December 2012.
Opened as a holiday let at the start of 2014, after we laboured over weekends to lay new ceramic floors, installed new kitchen units, new central heating and a new multi-fuel log burner, painted and decorated.
Meet Maureen and Mike
We are both keen walkers, and love the Cornish coastline with its easily traversed coastal paths and never ending supply of beautiful coves and majestic mining heritage.
We fell in love with Botallack and Little Ferriby many years ago, and were lucky to purchase the property in 2012 and have spent many a happy day enjoying the quiet ambience of the village, the friendly neighbours, the numerous local walks, and the homely village pub.
Maureen and Mike purchased this cottage in 2012
Why Maureen King chose Saint Just
I have happy memories of childhood summer holidays with my Aunty who lived in the village just up the road from Little Ferriby
What makes this cottage unique
The village of Botallack is in a quiet backwater just north of Sennen Cove and Lands End, with easy access by both footpath and road to the many beautiful coves and headlands which abound in this most dramatic south-west tip of the Cornish peninsula.
We walked walked the coastal path from Padstow to Falmouth in 2001, and I fell in love with the rugged and beautiful coastline.
We stayed one night in Botallack in a luxurious soft bed at WeeCote rather than our backpacking tent, and and we both developed a dream of one day buying a property in or near Botallack.
We visited Botallack regularly and in 2012 the opportunity came to purchase Little Ferriby, and the rest is history.
